Antenna-Building
Most amateurs understand that the primary component in an amateur radio station is its antenna. More than any other part, the antenna determines the success of the station and its operator.
Our club members continue the quest for antenna perfection by building and tweaking proven designs, or by creating entirely new designs (one of our members is considered to be among the top antenna designers in North America).
We have had club projects involved with building small antennas.
The builders learned a lot, and produced very good antennas.
While there are hundreds of books about antennas, and many thousands of pages of information on the internet, their design remains almost as much art as science.
There is therefore no substitute for the experience of amateurs who have been building antennas for 20, 30, even 50 years, and their willingness to share their knowledge with other amateurs.
If building antennas is your "thing", or if you'd like to learn more about antennas and radio, please come out to one of our meetings or contact us via our Contact Us page.
