Activities
Community Service
Our club is a registered non-profit organization. Income from our hamfest and membership dues that exceeds our modest operating costs is given to our communities.
We offer small grants to students at local schools for outstanding technical achievement, and make donations to the local hospitals, historical societies, and the Elman Campbell Museum.
We provide free support to major community events.
Our members volunteer to assist major community events such as
- Santa Claus parades
- Aurora Street Festival
- Canada Day events
- and other large events needing communications assistance.
Our club also assists charities with significant events in our region.
- The Childrens Wish Foundation's Wishmaker's Parade (in cooperation with York Regional Police)
- the Al Humphrey Memorial Horse Ride for Cancer
We support these events with communications systems, traffic and safety marshalls, and checkpoint management, as well as with planning and organization of the ground support for the events.
To learn more about our capabilities, or to request our support, or to volunteer to assist us in supporting these events, please contact our Community Service coordinator via our Contact Us page.
