Activities
Dayton Hamvention
Each year in May, a contingent of club members makes a "pilgrimage" to the world's largest hamfest in Dayton, Ohio.
The trip offers an unparalleled opportunity to see hundreds of radio-related vendors all in one place, but it offers much more too.
The combination of a flea market, a selling fair, and a convention is a powerful draw for amateurs, and they come from all over the world to attend.
Our club's contingent is usually a sizable group of dozens of members.
Over the four-day trip we have large, laugh-filled breakfasts and dinners together. We troll the hamfest looking for deals for ourselves and each other.
We enjoy presentations on everything from restoring antique radios to building systems with emerging technologies.
We spend evenings testing and trying out our purchases, or visiting local attractions, or "rag-chewing" with other amateurs.
The Dayton Hamvention trip is a rich social and technological learning experience made better by the close association of our members.
Join our club, and join us on our next journey to Dayton!
